Native New Yorker

The first time I ever went to NYC was with my dad at the age of 9 and all I can recall is a magical experience while touring the city that never sleeps.
We went shopping to the 5th Avenue, then to Broadway to watch The Phantom of the Opera & The Lion King (AMAZING!), afterwards to Fao Schwarz, then ate at PJ Clarke's the most INCREDIBLE Burgers EVER and had dinner at The Palm, etc.... He knew the place like the palm of his hand and I can't help but smile with all those memories and feel how a part of the city grows in my soul.
(Yeah, you read well.. NEW YORKER SOUL baby.. hahaha)
Now, if the Empire state of mind is so appealing... Imagine what it is to fashion lovers.
Who wouldn't love to attend one of the world's biggest fashion scenarios during fashion week and see how street style and industry icons from all around the world gather at Bryant Park, right?
I was finally going to fulfill my dream and even had a theme song "Native New Yorker" by Odyssey, but school didn't grant me permission.
In conclusion I stayed home and followed every show on instagram so that in the end I could present to you my favourite proposals for SS14!
Hopefully next season I'll be able to attend and make it become a tradition over the years.
So let's start with the king Oscar de la Renta, who once again tore sighs....
We saw lot's of prints and combined textures from metal and lace, to mesh and flowers in retro silhouettes together with oversized accesories with a baroque air and SUBLIME hairdo's.

Braids are still the 101 of the stylish woman this season and something as simple, elegant and sofisticated as this will make you be the queen.
Alexander Wang, Balenciaga's new Emperor and Prince of New York showed an uber cool collection with shorts, baggy leather pants, shirts and white heel booties..... My favourite, the so called "sweater of the summer"
How cool is that transparent sweater?
I mean.... RESPECT!
Rebecca Minkoff surprised with a daring mix between sporty edge and classics which made a very effortless chic ensamble.
The shoes are simply tassel goodness.... <3 and the Frida braids were given an unexpected twist by making them fishtails. J'adore!
I had heard of Del Pozo, I had also seen some pictures of previous shows, but this one took my breath away.
Josep Font did an outstanding job with this collection, which made me remember why I love fashion so much.
It transported me to a different place surrounded by fairies who wore metallic heels in every shade, vaporous dresses, hand embroidered blouses & knitwear and every now and then showed a bit of glowing fairy dust.
The hair was super relaxed and simple with a bit of volumen and the makeup consisted of liquid eyeliner in yellow and blue. <3
Merely Supernal!
When it comes down to fringed wild clothes Rodarte couldn't be more perfect, look at this skirt and amazing booties.
I was excited to attend to Ricardo Seco's show and see the POWER collection from the mexican designer, though I could not assist, I didn't lost detail.
The collection put together two amazing cities: New York and Shanghai in casual and urban silhouettes with oriental motifs. SOOOOOOOOOO sophisticated, modern, edgy and unique.
I truly loved it! HURRAY for mexican talent!
Michael Kors, the king of american chicness blow me away!
Snake printed leather skirt and retro swimsuits... YES PLEASE!
Filled with top models in a very New Yorker background and a special appearance from Rita Ora DKNY flooded the runway with very grunge looks. Dope!
Last but not least came de Prabal Gurung show where asian met pop art and created fabulous pieces.
I love this gigant-rose sweater, the strap shoes and sunnies!
Another thing that caught my eye this season were the manis for each show.
I love the job essie did and am planning to try some of this designes.
First from left to right is for Rita Remark's show, then Rebecca Minkoff, Nanette Lepore and this amazing french one for Wes Gordon's collection.
So this is what I loved the most of NYFW ss14, one day I'll finaly go and dance in the streets to the beat of "Native New Yorker"!
I would like to thank everyone once again for the invitations, the collections are supreme! It's sad I could not attend to the shows in person, but do not doubt I was there in heart!
