Outfit on Point!

Some people just look bad and others can look fantastically neat and casually elegant.
Why?
Well, as I once said: There is an unglamorous side to every glamorus.
The "beach waves" we all want are a products of sleeping with braids, or geting up an hour earlier to blow them out. Hollywood teeth are the result of whitening and years of brackets and palates (I'll say) And thinness is the result of a strict eating routine.

The other day I spend my afternoon observing people while I took a cup of green tea at the Lincoln Park. That is one of the things I like the most. To sit down with a good book and read or notebook to write in an open space and enjoy this little moment of solitude.

Well, the fact is that I was distracted and didn't read anything and I got to watch the pedestrians who were running back to their children or walking their dogs on site.

I got many ideas to write about and also realized the most common mistakes and hits that make a difference when it comes to clothing.

Creo que todos sabemos que lograr un look casual, lo que vendria siendo vernos naturalmente hermosos, es de las cosas mas dificiles que hay y requiere de una rutina de cuidados que se conviertan en habitos del glamour (estoy inspirada, se nota?). 

Podrá sonar raro, pero cualquiera se puede arreglar. 

Antes de que digan algo, piensenlo...

Bien o mal, con estilo o sin estilo, cualquiera se puede poner un vestido de gala y maquillaje. Al final el intento ahí esta. La diferencia y lo que denota que alguien posea estilo radica en lo que puede hacer con una camisa blanca y unos mundanos jeans.

Hay el que se ve fachoso y la que se ve casualmente pulcra y hasta elegante.

¿Por que?

Bueno, como dije una vez: Siempre hay un lado poco glamouroso del glamour. 

Las "beach waves" que todas queremos son producto de dormir con trenzas, o levantarnos una hora antes para peinarlas con la secadora. Los dientes de estrella son producto de blanqueamiento y años de aparatos (Yo lo se) Y la delgadez es producto de una rutina alimenticia muy estricta.

El otro día me puse a observar a la gente mientras me tomaba un té verde en el parque Lincoln. Esa es de las cosas que mas me gusta, sentarme con un buen libro o un cuaderno para escribir en un espacio abierto y disfrutar ese pequeño momento de soledad acompañada. 

Pues bueno, el caso es que me distraje, no leí nada y me puse a observar a los transeuntes que corrian atras de sus hijos o paseaban a sus perros en el lugar.

Me dieron muchas ideas para escribir y tambien hicieron que me diera cuenta de los errores y aciertos que marcan la diferencia a la hora de vestir.

Pedicure

Heat season is at its peek and that can only mean one thing: open shoes!

Mules, cloges, huaraches (have you seen the new version by Proenza schouler? GENIUS), wedges, sandals, gladiators and peep toe platforms. That means we'll be showing our feet.

Having a beautiful pair of feet requires hard work. You have to exfoliate, put on cream and especially get a regular pedicure. You don't need to invest a fortune, simply have your nails well trimmed and clean to avoid contracting fungi and tother ugly hings.
Of course, a nice color is never out of boundaries. That's the key. Good care and a pop of color or at least a little nail glow.

Con la epoca de calor empezamos a usar zapatos abiertos. Mulas, cloges, huaraches (han visto la nueva version de Proenza schouler? LO MAXIMO), wedges y tacones "peep toe" (sin punta) así que por lo general mostramos nuestros dedos. Tener pies lindos requiere de arduo trabajo. Hay que exfoliar, poner crema y sobre todo hacernos un pedicure regularmente. No tenemos que invertir una fortuna, simplemente traer bien cortadas las uñas y procurar ser limpios para no contraer hongos y cosas. Por supuesto un lindo esmalte no esta de mas. Esa es la clave. Buen cuidado y si no quieres color, minimo brillo para uña pero nunca hay que enseñar los dedos si no se lea ha dado el cuidado adecuado. 

Accesories/Accesorios

I personally hated them when I was little. I use to forget to wear my bracelets and now I feel naked without them. however it must be a phase, because now I feel naked without my lucky charms. My mother educated me to never leave the house without earrings, in fact it really upsets her when she forgets to do so. When I was little I saw it as a ridiculous mania, still I must accept that a pair of pearl earrings or small diamonds make the difference. Nowadays I never leave without earrings, my watch to be always punctual, my stack of bracelets, my beloved tiffany lucky charms and a ring.
At first you will forget, but it becomes routine and then you'll realize you do not need much from 9 to 5 if you are already wearing your basics.

En lo personal, cuando era pequeña los odiaba. Se me olvidaba ponerme pulseras, pero supongo que es una etapa porque ahora me siento desnuda sin mis lucky charms. Mi madre me educo a nunca salir de la casa sin aretes, de hecho a ella salir asi la pone de mal humor y aunque cuando era pequeña creia que era una mania ridicula, debo de aceptar que un par de perlas, arracadas o pequeños diamantes hacen la diferencia.

Hoy en dia salgo SIEMPRE con aretes, mi reloj para nunca llegar tarde, mi stack de pulseras, mis lucky charms de tiffany y un anillo. 

Al principio se te va a olvidar, pero se vuelve rutina y despues te daras cuenta de que no necesitas accesorisar mucho si ya tienes tus basicos.  

Wax/Depilado

Frida Kahlo is just one of a kind. Neither Madonna or Julia Roberts or anyone else is forgiven to go unshaved. If you want to make a social statement do it with your words, they will have more credibility than the fact that you have hair under your arm pits. There are a thousands ways find the one you fits according to needs and you'll be beautiful forever.

Frida Kahlo solo habrá UNA. Ni a Madonna, ni a Julia Roberts ni a nadie se le perdona no andar depilada. Si quieres hacer un statement social hazlo con tus palabras, siempre tendrán mas credibilidad que el hecho de que tengas vellos bajo el brazo. Formas hay miles, encuentra la que mas te acomode de acuerdo a tus necesidades. Y estarás hermosa siempre. 

Perfume

Nothing like finding a scent that announces your arrival and seals your departure. It is almost indispensable, no matter if you're in the office or at the gym you a distinctive stamp.

Nada como encontrar un aroma que anuncie tu llegada y selle tu salida de cualquier estancia. Es casi indispensable, no importa si estas en la oficina o en el gimnasio, una fragancia siempre será un distintivo.

Mascara

The eyes are the window to the soul, and like all pretty window they deserve a good frame. There's no need to apply makeup daily, but using a little product very discreetly or even transparent eyelash mascara will give your eyes a cheerful, natural and casual flirty touch.

Los ojos son la ventana del alma, y como toda ventana merecen un buen marco. No tienes que maquillarte diario, pero usar un poco de producto de manera muy discreta o incluso mascara de pestañas transparente le dará a los ojos un toque alegre, natural y casualmente coqueto.

Shoes/Zapatos

Footwear is one of the things that influence the most in a first impression. Not because they are on the ground all the time means you do not need to take care of them in fact your shoes should be among your most precious possesions.

I am a firm believer that you can dress amazing on a budget, and even though you're wrapped in bills you should give yourself the opportunity to enter shops you'd never imagine yourself into. I can tell you that this weekend with all the summer sales I found the best deal on shoes in a place that I have avoided for years. The trick of buying shoes anywhere is the finish. Leather or faux they should have good seams, the same heel and naturally, they should be cleaned regularly. So they will last longer and look spotless.

El calzado es una de las cosas en las que la gente mas se fija y pueden influir en la primera impresión. No porque estén en el suelo todo el tiempo significa que no necesitan cuidados. Soy una fiel creyente de que te puedes vestir increíble con poco presupuesto, y aunque estes forrado en billetes puedes darte la oportunidad de entrar a tiendas a las que creerías que nunca entrarías y encontrar algo increíble. Puedo decirles que este fin de semana entre a todas las tiendas en rebajas de verano y encontré el mejor deal en zapatos en un lugar que he evitado por años. El truco de comprar zapatos en cualquier lado es fijarse en los acabados. Sean de cuero o no deben tener buenas costuras, el mismo tacón, hay que limpiarlos con regularidad y también bolearlos. Así van a durar más tiempo y se verán impecables.

Wrinckles/Arrugas

If your shoes are perfect your blouses must be as well.

As Anna dello Russo once said, each garment is like a flower and like flowers in a garden, each needs its own space. Don't crowd everything in the closet because the clothes are not only going to get wrinkled but also mistreated. So first and most important ALWAYS wash your clothes after use, Check the labels to see if it should be washed at home, if it needs cold water or dry cleaning. Treat silk gently, fold your denim and hang your coats and skirts. Clean your closet likewise so that it doesn't fill with odors or lint.

Si tus zapatos estan perfectos tus blusas deben de estar igual, porque como dijo Anna dello Russo alguna vez, cada prenda es como una flor y como flores en un jardín necesitan su propio espacio. No amontones todo en el closet porque la ropa no solo se arruga sino que también se maltrata. Así que en primer lugar lava tu ropa SIEMPRE después de usarla, checa las etiquetas para saber si se lava en casa, agua fría o tintorería, mantén la seda estirada y tu closet limpio para que no se llenen de olores o pelusas.

Well fitted/Como guante

Since you have all your perfect clothes you must be sure that it suits you. Try things a thousand times, do not buy anything too loose it's not the desig and do not buy pants three sizes smaller. Your clothes should fit like a glove, not too loose or tight but comfortable. It's ok to buy smaller things as goals but don't wear them until you fit them otherwise they'll only look bad.

Ya que tienes toda tu ropa perfecta debes estar segura de que te queda bien. Pruebate las cosas mil veces, no compres nada muy suelto si su diseño no es así y no compres pantalones tres tallas mas chicas. Tu ropa debe quedarte como un guante, no muy suelta ni apretada sino cómoda.

Mix&Match / Comodín

Every decade has had its wildcards. In the fifties the bags and shoes had to combin. In the eighties there was nothing better than a little leather and neon, but now nothing combines,we mix and match like crazy people to find a unique combination either minimal or following Iris Apfel's philosophy.. reason why some order in that modern disorder is required. So we can do and undo whatever we want with our outfit but I personally like to achieve a subtle visual symmetry when I paint my lips and nails same colors. So it seems that somehow it all belongs together.

Cada década ha tenido sus comodines. En los cincuentas las bolsas y los zapatos tenían que combinar, en los ochenta nada era mejor que un poco de cuero y neón, pero ahora que nada combina, y un poco de orden en este desorden es requerido. Por lo tanto podemos hacer y deshacer lo que queramos con nuestro outfit pero personalmente me gusta lograr una sutil simetría visual cuando pinto mis labios y mis uñas de colores iguales. Así parece que de alguna manera todo combina.

There's a reason for you to go with them... However it often seems so normal that we do not follow their instructions letter by letter. But if we invest so much time and money on looking good on the outside why not start from within. We are what we eat, we have the smile we so hard brush for and we have the face that creams and consistency allow us to. So do not follow "advice", follow the RULES to not only look, but feel great

Vas con ellos por algo y muchas veces nos parece tan normal que no seguimos sus indicaciones al pie de la letra. Pero si invertimos tanto tiempo y dinero en lucir bien por fuera por que no empezar desde adentro. Somos lo que comemos, tenemos la sonrisa por la que nos cepillamos los dientes y tenemos la cara que la constancia y las cremas nos permiten. Así que no sigas consejos, sigue las reglas para verte y sentirte bien.
