Hey Beauties!
How are you? I'm really excited about the upcoming days where I will attend to an international Model of the United Nations! Later on I'll tell you how it was... Wish me luck!
I went to the opera and then for a walk in the city while swooping around in this vaporous palazzo pants, because with this heat there's no other way to survive.
A pair of this, nude caged sandals and a nice leather tote were the essentials for a great weekend.
Very simple but very chic at the same time, the combination every fashionista wants to achieve!
As you can see, and because we are very cliché.. flowers are blooming and returning to our closet!
Couldn't be happier for that!
I shot this photos at campo marte in the city, and the reflexión in the water appeared to be something magical. Like the waters of march..... one of my grandmas favourite songs....
Enjoy...

It Goes On

Hello my beloved readers!
And welcome to My Vintage Armoire this sunny friday morning....
I've been posting many quotes lately about overthinking.. and the fact is that overthinking kills your happiness. Or at least that's what I've been feeling....
It all starts with day dreaming about something and ends up with you all messed up about the zillion forms it can take.

Example number one... You have a dinner party at your friends house. You are taking her a wine bottle and are ready to have a fun time with your friends, when she tells you she invited more people... Among them someone really important from work. This adds the factor *IMPRESS to the list. So, what was supposed to be a casual dinner turns out to be an opportunity to scale at work. At first you are thiking your brains out on what to wear to look chic but effortless when she changes the dress code to Formal *WIN ... Now you can start playing seriously. You are almost certain that you have found the perfect look when she rings and asks for help with dinner. Not only with your delicious salad, but with the meatloaf she is suppose to make. For that you have to go to her house earlier and get dressed there, you can of course but the logistic that comes from not changing at home and thinking about how to impress the guy. BOOM she tells you your ex is coming... *DAMN what now? You'll try to impress, but know le ex-boyfriend has feelings for you and it'll be akward .. and ...SO IT GOES ON and ON and ON ... Result: NIGHTMARE.

And we can relate to this in many situations in life... a date, an event, a catwalk, a get away with friends, wedding, a sleepover or just a meal with the fam where you know you are going to be the center of attention.
A concert, an exam, recital.... You name it... Overthinking makes you sad, frustrated and stressed.
My advice:
GO WITH THE FLOW!
You don't need to do anything that doesn't make you happy or makes ypu feel uncomfortable!
Just chill and everything will be ok.
Don't listen to the opinión of  others.. sometimes they try to help but end up turning everything into something worse!

Avec L'Enfant Terrible

Fashion lovers see the world differently.
We are surrounded not only by clothes, but by beautiful things that accompany our most amazing memories. The dress we wore to prom, the shoes from our first date, and even the lucky charm we had on while receiving great news.
Even the fact of coming across one of this pieces can be an adventure.
Saving for your first Chanel bag, Alaia shoes or Oscar de la Renta dress is always fun! (I'm still saving hahaha)
After this reflexion, you can imagine how excited I was about meeting one of this mythic artists, Jean Paul Gaultier.
I attended to a shooting at the premises of Elle Magazine, where I had the chance to meet this great designer and talk a little bit with him.
I can't tell you much about the shoot, but I can say that he is a really happy guy!
You can't be spend two minutes with him without laughing. HE seemed to always have a funny story to tell.
When he saw me, he told me my shirt was UBER COOLAs you can believe I almost fainted.
I think designers are normally seen as unattainable beings, gods of creativity, who lead luxurious lifes. When in fact they are people like us.
Jean Paul is not only a successful designer with his feet on earth, he is someone with a very realistic perseption of beauty.
I told him I admired how he embrassed cultural and ethnical diversity in his shows and asked him what he thought about this image of beauty that media are selling. Extreme thinness, large proportions, no pores and tight gap.
To what he aswered.. and I quote ... "I DON'T LIKE ANOREXICO!!!"
He likes people with curves like Dita von Thesse, who appeared in his last show and is famouse for her sculptural body.
So, in the end I wasn't just grateful and incredibly happy for this experience, but also amazed to meet someone from that calliber who is still nice, real and honest.
It appears to me that he is only "terrible" from his ideas, but a sweet sweet man off character.

Speed Glamour

Hello my beloved readers!!!
How's your week starting? Are you barely recovering from the weekend as I am?
Because all the thrill from last weeks events, plus the weekend parties left me DRAWN!
I all started by meeing Jean Paul Gaultier and finally finished on friday morning with a press conference where I had the chance to talk t the man of the hour at the W hotel.
In between I went to Nook's forth edition where the mexican designers, Rolando Santana, Kris Goyri, Mancandy and Yakampot showed their FW14 collections!
Check out their previous work HERE and HERE....
Anyway, today I want to share with you something that's been bothering me the last couple of days.
A year ago, you would have showed me sneakers and I would have run the other way and into some heels or ballerinas...
Now, I can't even stand how cool they looke with leather leggins or skirts!
Of course these "new sneakers" go hand in hand with the sporty touch that's revolutionizing the industry. Still, that doesn't mean they aren't luxurious or "trippin"
Chanel started this madness by making the models wear them at the couture show, Balenciaga contributed with a model that has its iconic crackled pattern that emerged last season and if you are a Kanye West fan, you must know that all his cool shoes are from Giuseppe Zanotti....And if I ever expected my first pair of Zanotti's to be killer stilettos, I can now start thinking about thick plastic soles like the ones below.
What do you think about designers sneakers?

Beauty: Aqua Allegoria Limón Verde

AQUA ALLEGORIA was designed as an ode to all facets of nature. Every year since 1999, Guerlain has reinvented the classic theme of freshness with a new inspiration, and has brought to us Limón Verde.
I loved the fragrance.
I tend to associate scents with situations or people, don't you?
Well, this eau de toilette is very sweet, lightweighted and makes you feel fresh all day.
That's not all... We girls love perfume bottles and this one is one of the cutest I've ever seen.
I'm telling you, it's gong straight to my collection.
AQUA ALLEGORIA Limón Verde will be in stores on april.
Prepare for the perfect and most bee-liciouse reborn season!

Hey Guys!
I wont make up more excusess ... I've been very busy and it's been very difficult to update the blog.
Which has, of course, made me extremelly anxious.
But last week I couldn't even think about anything else appart from international affairs.
I'm in a Project called MUN, which is a model of the united nations. So every once in a while I take place in debates with other people as if we were at the UN.
It is amazing. It's always nice to talk about fashion, but investigating about the current world situation is really interesting!
The situation in Siria, the Gaza Strip, Crimea, the proliferation of weapons in the middle east or the fight for human rights in places like Venezuela is something that should concern us all.
Genocide in Darfur, Cambodia, Guatemala remind us to the holocaust and those empty words from big nations that said something like that would never happen again.
Let me give you a piece of advice...
It doesn't matter what you decide to do with your life.
Do it with integrity and if you have the power, help others!
Remember: Smart, conscious and well dressed is the most beautiful!

On other aspects, as I'm supposed to be in an international I had to dress in a formal way. This where two of my outfits.
Both are very comfy and can be worn separately into casual looks, as I did HERE with the blue blouse.
Like them?

FW14 Catwalk Review

11:53 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Oscar Wild once said that fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months. Now I don't agree with the "ugliness" part, because I think that every six months new collections contribute to our addiction. Fashion week comes and goes but style doesn´t, and while we enjoy FW14 in the runway, we see SS14 in the streets. It's madness! There's never enough to buy or old silhouettes or already seen pieces. There's only the cravig for winter in the summer and viceversa.

I wasn't able to keep you minute by minute posted as I did last season and because of my lack of time, I wasn't able to fly to New York either. But after watching every show from NYC to Paris I've selected my favourites.
Let's start with the concrete jungle...
DelPozo
Last season I explained how DelPozo had a way to take my breath away.
Now I can certainly say that it is my favourite brand.
It portraits elegance, feminity, minimalism and class in avant-garde silhouettes, and this collection was like a dream come true.
Chic and girly but paired with the perfect oxford shoes, giving it that boyish touch I've many times said I'm obsessed with. Most importantly Josep Font manages to keep it always fresh.
From the makeup to the clothes, crisp is the essence of the empire, just as the supernal artisan embroidery present in couture and flawlessly transported to the ready to wear pieces
If I could, I would wear DelPozo all day everyday.

BCBG MAX AZRIA
BCBG has a way to transport couture to Street style trends. Add leather to a normal sweater and wear it with a see through skirt or pair a beanie with a silk twin set.
Makeup for fall? Keep it natural and only accentuate the crease.

Proenza Schouler
Jack McCollough & Lázaro Hernández went print BANANAS!
If Mix and Match was an art, they would be the masters.
Every sngle piece in this collection invites you to blend it with another one just as crazy.
Patch work, asymmetrical shapes, cheetah, giraff, croc clutches, melted shoes and shoulder paths that exude futuristic allure.
I'm OBSESSED!

 DKNY
I mean, DKNY... Empire state of mind... both are practically the same.
Aren't they?
They complement each other. The city would be the same without a casual look from Donna Karan and Donna wouldn't créate magic without the inspiration of this great city.
Prints have appeared in every collection who's designer has embraced digital revolution. And leather.. Donatella's second skin has become a becon of hope for effortless looks.
The lesson here?
Screw pant... better more burn them all... and get yourself as many pairs as you can fom leather pants and sweaters.

 Marissa Webb

Tomboy, Preppy, Effortless.
Marissa Webb listen to my prayers by blending this three and creating tweed and woolen layers.
Messy hair, natural makeup, layers and heels..... This will become my school uniform... No kidding.

Rebecca Minkoff
I really like how Rebecca can adjust to any style.
Last season it was all about flowers and a mexican inspiration, and now she manages to mix uptown with grunge. In one hand we see shirts with a message, beanies, shine and leather and on the other we see leather pencil skirts, coats and fur bags and scarves.
Fur is definitelly staying and I'm loving it!

Ricardo Seco
The mexican designer did it again!
Ricardo Seco presented an UBER cool collection which reaffirmed that real men wear pink ... and many shades of pastels.
With digital motivs and sneakers he created relaxed but stylish look for man in the city.
Still, I wouldn't mind stealing sosme sweaters or coats from my boyfriend...

Oscar de la Renta
Oscar de la Renta is the King of class. He designes for the most sophisticated women in the planet, therefore his ideal fall is inspired in retro silhouettes that remind us of the time when being a lady was still important. I would have loved to live in those times.
Short pixie hair, oversized silhouettes, fur coats and the attitude. Elegance among everything.
Speechless, as always.

Blue Breeze

Oh Spring!
I'm glad you are finally here, because honestly who doesn't love spring?
It's the season of reborn.
Flowers Bloom in trees and bushes, accompanied by a light breeze with the aroma of nature and delicious sunny days.
It's perfect.
The best of both worlds, where we wear thin sweaters in the morning and skirts for the afternoon.
And who said we had to get over the layer obsession?!
No sir!
Inspired in my onion-layered-autumn I put together this look for a nice sunday with a visit to the opera, a brunch at Butcher&Sons and a long walk at the park.
This linen safari jacket is extremely comfortable and adds a really comfy aura to the look.
I bought this skirt in germany 4 years ago with my best friend.
What I love the most about it, is the movement it has while you walk.
Still, I had only wore it in the winter with tights and sweaters because it has an elastic band at the waist which I'm always trying to hide, but then, after looking around in my closet, I found this peplum white blouse to match perfectly.
Of course, I know what you are thinking! Weekends are to do some cardio (NOT)
But by that I mean running around in stilettos, like my new nude peep toe platforms, which are perfect for that purpouse.
After putting together this look I realized how excited I am to change my boots for wedges and coats for trenchs and start enjoying the season of birth.

The Devil Wears Prada

12:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Hello my beloved readers!
How was your weekend?
I hope you had a great one!
Mine was very productive and relaxing.
After doing a math exam on friday I could return home at 9 o´clock. I went to the gym, DIY-ed a crop top, got a mani/pedi and then treated myself with a hot bath in the tub.
On saturday after arriving home from a brunch with my friends I decided it was time to watch a movie.
It was one of those days when you don't know what to see among piles of DVD's, but then, my mother put The Devil Wears Prada and for the billionth time I confirmed that it doesn't matter how many times I watch it, It'll always be one of my favourite movies.
The thrill starts when fabulous girls are picking even the perfect underwear for their working look and then she appears... Together with my goose bumps... The one an only Miranda Priesly perfectly dressed and carrying a Prada bag.
The glamour it's impecable and Andy's style evolution during the whole film makes you enthusiastic about the clothes and that dreamy wardrobe at Runway's office.

I bet I'm not the only one who wishes to be them. Miranda it's right in the end.
Who wouldn't want to live a stylish life in the city.
I wouldn't mind running around in stilettos while discussing what will be featured in the next issue.
Everytime I watch this movie I understand more and more things about this world. Altough it is a movie, it is a vague idea of what and who I would like to become.
And of course the shoes and bags and chanel necklaces and each single fur coat Meryl Streep is given to wear. STUNNING!
If you are a Fashion lover like me, and you haven´t, it's imperative that you watch it!
Tell me what you think or let me know which Fashion movies you love... then we can make a list!
