Beauty Tips: Silk Hands

12:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Aside from all the remedies I've written, I think one of the most important things to have and keep handy is a great moisturizing cream to always carry around and apply constantly.
I got this one inside a goodie bag at Berlin's Fashion Week, and hadn't really used it till I found it again the other day...
I didn't know this Brand from Amsterdam, and must say that I'm impressed of how quick and good their organic products work.
This hand cream is made out of fresh figs & rice milk. It smells delicious and leaves my hands soft without leaving a greasy feeling.
Really recomendable.

Deeper than a wrapping?

I didn't know what to think when I first read that Mr. Jeremy Scott was going to collaborate with Moshino. In my eyes it was impossible to see how the italian brand and his irreverent style were going to collide without creating disaster.
Altough my vision changed once I saw the preview photos from the AW14 collection.
The motorcycle purses, cow printed dresses and oversized shirts with a cool message were innovative and chic.
But it was until the live transmission started and the influx of tweets dramaticaly increased that it hit me...
Chocolate wrap dresses, Bob Sponge total looks, McDonald's purses and Iphone cases, pop corn capes, furry varsity oversized shirts accompanied by the most shocking "GENIUS" & "I LOVE IT" tweets.
I was Speechless!!!
Very funny clothes and all, but I can't see myself wearing a Hershey's gown to a gala or taking my McDonald's purse out for lunch.
I'm obsessed with the brands big letter belts, which thank God were now featured in boots, skirts, tops and all sorts of leather silhouettes featuring a dominatrix inspiration. Very sexy indeed.
Those were my favourite pieces from the entire collection. Sexy, femenine and with an 80´s vibe.
Still it wasn't enought to overcome the trauma from the previous caricartoonish pieces.
So, I started thinking that maybe those candy wrappers had a deeper meaning.
For example, it could be an intent to show us how gigantic firms have taken over our world.
Maybe it's a protest against massive advertisement....
A way to show us how be spend money in junk...
How we actually are what be eat and become junk...
Or is it me just trying to give an intention in this world to a modern-cut Sour Patch kids wrapper?

Beauty Tips: Valentine´s Day Preparation

9:26 PM Prueba 0 Comments

23:00 o´clock and I could finally finish studying biology and can now concentrate on sharing a great Valentine's beauty plan.I think this is a date that can not only be spend together with a partner, but also hang out with your friends and celebrate the bond of love that unites you guys together. As you see, it has started to affect me and now I'm being cheesy ... So the next plan may be something relaxing between couples or for a sleepover or home spa session with friends .Since we are going to eat out feelings away.. I propose that we prepare the skin and palate with a delicious chocolate mask .You need:2 tablespoons cocoa , which has oils and antioxidants that help prevent the appearance of wrinkles.1 tablespoon honey, which helps reduce inflammation and disinfect your skin which prevents pimble bacteria to move to another face areas.1 tablespoon coconut oil with antiseptic and moisturizing properties.Mix everything, apply on your face and leave on for 15 minutes.Rinse with warm water and repeat once every two weeks for best results. This may become your friendship ritual 2 times a month ...To relax during those 15 minutes... what about a foot bath ?You'll only need a tub of hot water ... rose petals .. and a few drops of your favorite fragrance.Tell me you think!

Artistic Behavior

You guys might have know that I love fashion, but I've recently rediscovered how much I love contemporary art. Not just the colors or shapes, but also the message it transmits.
5 years ago I would have never thought about writing as a career, but I've found a great amusement in playing with words and giving them the power to control emotions.
On sunday I went with my family to Zona Maco, an art fair where artists and galleries from all around the world expose the most incredible creations.
I really enjoyed it. To walk around I chose a very casual look.
Instead of denim I picked a new jocker: Burgundy jeans. Really cool and comfy, paired with a t-shirt from the W house of Fashion event.
My first option was a black Bebe blazer, but the summer is approaching and I found this military linen coat more suitable to layer and not die in the heat of the city.
The studded clutch is a creation by the talented mexican designer Ivan Ávalos which perfectly combined with my latest nail design. Like it ? I'll post a tutorial soon.
For the first time on the blog I present to you my new favourite pair of shoes, my loves, my inspiration, my pointy Ralph Lauren babies in blue patent leather... just melt my heart.
In the end the printed shirt merged perfectly with this colorful and inspirational experience.

Flawless

Women have fought for their rights and equal social, economic and political opportunities for long. But we have never analized how this fight gets affected by modern media.
Leaving aside prejudices made by religion or physical differences between sexes, think about propaganda.
Fashion should not be seen as a bunch of pretty dresses , it's history, art, culture
and a way to express your true self. Therefore anyone can use it with that purpose. Altough many times we get the message that only tall, skinny people with money can. Many campaigns alterate their models to make them look much skinnier than they could ever naturally be or build them proportions that are simply impossble.
In makeup, pores disappear as if they were something shameful.... One thing is to wear it to hide imperfections and others to try to look like the girl in the picture. I can assure you that it'll never happen.
Add to this, the fact that sometimes only parts from a complete woman appear. This totally dehumanizes her and turns her into a sexual object with no personality or value.
Women are strong, intelligent and have the ability to connect emotionally and feel empathy. Something, that if men used to their advantage, would take a lot of hatry and negativity from this world.
The first step that promotes violence is the dehumanization of a person. It loses all respect the moment it becomes an object in the subconscious of others.
That was the key of fascism ... and if you think about it, maybe some campaigns lead to violence against girls too. I think men and women are not equal. Men should be chivalrous as a simple sign of education. But to be treated with respect, does not mean you are inferior and can not have the same positions or renumbering. We must educate men with the same values that we educated women.
If our life is " around marriage " why isn't theirs? Or better said, why should our main goal in life to get married? Why don't we teah girls to be competitive, not for the attention of men, but for jobs and academic opportunities.
I love fashion and glamour and I think most of these concepts are surrounded or simply born of dreams. But to what extent is our society bombard with fictional perfection that leads to death.?!
One thing is to be thin, eat healthy and stay fit ... and quite another to get to a store where everything is mostly size 2 and the average population size 8.
Returning to the previous point we "have to" stay fit.. I get that is attractive, but you can't ask for a Victoria Secrets model if you are not an Abercrombie & Fitch yourself.
In my opinión it is very important and urgent that we become aware of this situation and start thinking what we are telling to younger generations.
This "perfection" portraited on TV and magazines leads to psychological frustration in which women wonder if being pretty is everything. That's when things may get out of hand and trigger deeper probems like depresion y anorexia.
There is beauty in each of us, although it sounds cliche .. it's true. And we shouldn't propitiate this type of advertisement directed to men, in which girls are adversely affected.
"Beauty is skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone" as Dorothy Parker would say, so... be who you are. Be Flawless.

Daily Essentials

12:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Willkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome to My Vintage Armoire my beloved readers!
Today I want to share with you my absolutely daily essentials, which don't matter if I'm feeling tired or not, can't be missing in my everyday routine.
  • Trésor in Love Lancôme: This is one of my favourite fragrances, because it's delicate scent reminds of fashion. I used to wear this perfume strictly to events related with that world, but I felt like I needed to have that excitement with me every day... It's just a mixture of roses and thrill that I love. Whenever I'm going out at night I tend to take a shower before in order to use the shower gel and make my skin soak and absorbe this treasure.

  • Vernis a Lêvres YSL: I'm a free spirit who finds very difficult to stick to one product. Even if it is amazing, I feel like I need to try them all in order to find the best. In any matter I haven't found a better lip gloss tan this one .. non that fullfills all my requirements. I was looking for something very natural, with a hint of color that shined and stayed all day so I don't need to retouch at school. This is perfect with the bonus that alltough it is long lasting, doesn't dry lips and you can easily add more intensity by applying more layers. Undoubtedly my favorite!

  • Hypnôse Star Lancôme: I can leave home with my hair looking like a hot mess, but never without a hint of mascara. Just a Little to make those lashes look perky. The brush from this specific mascara has a triangular shape which makes it easier to comb all lashes at once. It goes from the tiny tiny one in the lacrimal to the one on the eye crease. Remember this one it can make your eyes bigger an nothing is more beautiful and seductive tan a happy smile!

  • Studs BCBG: I had been looking for the perfect bangle to accompany my watch... and nothing can help us out more when we are lost tan a bit of maternal guidance. My mom gave me this for my birthday. It is slim, light, rocker and it fascinates me. It also helped me realize how much i love BCBG jewelry. Do you like it?
Do you have any cherished ítem or products?
Share with me I would love to know!

Fashion 1-0-1

12:00 AM Prueba 1 Comments

Hey Guys!
It's Monday... and a great one!
Apart from the fact that I've been feeling terrible for not updating the blog.
You see, for me a week without writting is like a week without voice. From writting I get a feeling of freedom and relaxation nothing else provides.
But, enough chit chat... let's get back to the important.
2 weeks ago I got an e-mail from one of my beloved readers, saying she loved the way I dress (MAJOR THANKS) but feels like she would never be able to combine things like I do. She says that she's always wearing comfy sweaters and jeans but would love to learn little tricks to make this looks much more stylish. In my words, to get an effortless chic style with the pieces she owns.
I was really happy to receive this because I love when you guys interact over here! I wanted to write as soon as posible but school is stressful. Period.
Still, I'm gratefull because I had the time to think this post through.
Let's begin...
People learn from failure.
And.. why do I tell you this?
Because, if you are trying to change your style or use someone as inspiration... it is perfectly normal to make mistakes at first. Don't espect to become a stylist in a week because it all takes time and of course the courage to wear whatever you want and feel.
Altough a casual look seems easy, it's quite the opposite.
It is relatively easy to wear a gown put on some makeup and look divine... but to achieve perfection with the most basic pieces is an art very few ever master.
I would say that it is all about of balance and twists.
You can mix more formal pieces with casuals. Just like heels with jeans and a nice blouse or a simple t-shirt and an oversized necklace!
The first thing I thought about when I read she wore lots of sweaters was in layering.
This is th easiest way to stay comfy, warm and look chic.
So, take your average look.
Let's say a pair of jeans, a sweater and boots.
now choose a shirt and wear it undearneath the sweater...
Then roll it up and let the cuffs and neck stick out. Last but not least give it a rocker vibe by wearing a leather jacket!

If you don't own one... it's probably the time to get it.
I was all about buying statement pieces, but i've noticed that it's all about balance too, because a trully great look is created with statements and basics.
If you only wear chunky feather jackets, invest in a coat. It'll keep you warm but make you look chic.
It would be a lie if I tell you that you just need to combine things differently and PRESSTO you'll have a new closet.
You need to get concious of what you own and how you can wear it, but incorporate key pieces as well. OR just different versions, like color denim jeans or capri pants... woolen tartan trousers or something to change your average appearence.
My most haves would be an oversized necklace, leather pants, a pair of cool flat shoes like oxfords or penny holders(not everything is about stilettos), nice ripped jeans, a coat, tons of knitwear and shirts to wear underneath, t-shirts with cool mottos or logos and comfortable heels, a blazer, denim shirts, a cool sweater, a nice hat or beanie and a black tote.
Layers in it's splendor

Wear a complete monochromatic look.
All white is the strongest proposal right now!

A sweater, short ripped jeans, sneakers and a cool oversized necklace!

Sweaters can be casual or formal... now embrace methallics!

Here I have a tweed coat on, burgundy jeans, patent leather penny holders and a sweater... the catch? it is methallic!

A blazer, shirt, denim and of course stilettos!
You could also wear this with oxfords or even sneakers and still look great!
Why?
A blazer with a woolen shirt and jeans are effortless chic!

Oversized earrings are a beautiful and elegant twist as well.

You see?
It's all about wearing things with a twist!
People shoould definitely invest in accesories to make a look work... and of course shoes... smoking slippers, oxfords and everything with a boyish vibe. There´s no way to go wrong with that!
Hope you liked this post!
Remember that if you are looking for any tips.. you can write me an e-mail to robertarmoire@gmail.com
Have a wonderful week!
