Classic Red

Today I write to you sitting quitely in the calm before the storm.
Fashion week starts tomorow for me and I couldn't be more excited.
So, with all the fuzz the only thing I could think about all day were outfits and makeup.
And that got me to the reflections of which lipstick I should wear.
My obvious choice: Red
Classic, elegant, lady like and beautiful, but lately everyime I have an event I tend to choose soemething a little more dark: burgundy or brown.
I love the way this colors look, always very dramatic, sleek, bold, sophisticated and discreetly sexy. And that got me thinking... Is a red lipstick every womens must have? OR shall we start trying our selfes and go out of the comfort zone?
I had arts class today and had to wear makeup for some pictures... You can imagine my choice, which came with an affirmation to the previous question. We should dare!
Many designers as I stated on yesterday's beauty tips have chosen abstruse looks and impressed everybody, I see no reason why we shouldn't take those as example.
I certainly love it and now have a new opinion.
A woman should have 2 essential lipsticks.
The first, red of course, as a timeless color and the second a very dark shade that makes her feel like a complete different woman.
What do you ladies think?
Would you try it?
Have you tryed it?
Do you love it?
My advice, to catch all eyes... wear brown lipstick!
Beauty Tips: Colorimetry session with YSL
3:00 AM Prueba 18 Comments
I've had a very stressfull week dealing with chemistry and math exam but it's nice to take some time off and write.
Last friday I went to see YSL's new makeup collection and also attend an eye-opener/amazing colorimetry session with the YSL beaute team.
You might be asking yourself what that is...
Well, have you ever wondered which makeup shades you should actually buy to look stunning? or which colors you must wear to look even better?
That's colorimetry!
According to your skin tone, hair and eye color you are categorized into certain group of colors that suits you best.
This are divided in 2 groups, each with two seasons.
-Warm: Spring and Autumn
This group is for light colored skin redheads or golden blondes with brown, green or turquoise eyes. The tones for this girls should be earthy and hot. For example brown, orange, green, hot pink and light blue.
- Cold: Summer and Winter
This category is for brunettes, black haired or platinum blondes with either blue, brown or even grey eyes. They (and I include myself) should really try colors such as pale pink, grey, opaque emerald or wear stronger looks with burgundy, dark brown and cobalt blue.
You might think this is wrong (should be SS and FW), but makeup palletes are divided like this.
Is it ok to wear dark lipstick in the day?
And now that we know what colors we are, can we mix seasons?

Native New Yorker

The first time I ever went to NYC was with my dad at the age of 9 and all I can recall is a magical experience while touring the city that never sleeps.
We went shopping to the 5th Avenue, then to Broadway to watch The Phantom of the Opera & The Lion King (AMAZING!), afterwards to Fao Schwarz, then ate at PJ Clarke's the most INCREDIBLE Burgers EVER and had dinner at The Palm, etc.... He knew the place like the palm of his hand and I can't help but smile with all those memories and feel how a part of the city grows in my soul.
(Yeah, you read well.. NEW YORKER SOUL baby.. hahaha)
Now, if the Empire state of mind is so appealing... Imagine what it is to fashion lovers.
Who wouldn't love to attend one of the world's biggest fashion scenarios during fashion week and see how street style and industry icons from all around the world gather at Bryant Park, right?
I was finally going to fulfill my dream and even had a theme song "Native New Yorker" by Odyssey, but school didn't grant me permission.
In conclusion I stayed home and followed every show on instagram so that in the end I could present to you my favourite proposals for SS14!
Hopefully next season I'll be able to attend and make it become a tradition over the years.
So let's start with the king Oscar de la Renta, who once again tore sighs....
We saw lot's of prints and combined textures from metal and lace, to mesh and flowers in retro silhouettes together with oversized accesories with a baroque air and SUBLIME hairdo's.
Beauty Tips: BB-What?
3:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments
The beauty world is not talking about anything else than BB Creams.
It is said that they do wonderful things, but what are they?
BB stands for "Blemish Balm", a balm formulated by German dermatologists to use as skin anti-inflammatory after surgery.
But now a BB Cream goes beyond, it is a hybrid almost transparent care product that moisturizers, conceals, repairs, brightens, protects of UV light and eliminates imperfections.
So, when do you have to use it?
Makeup artists say it is something you use before foundation.
In my case I used it for the first time to cover imperfections. You see, I don't wear makeup unless necessary; for that same reason it was the only thing needed to bring a matte - finish, but if you wear foundation it can be a flawless corrector and leave your skin smooth so you avoiding the clogged pores and clumping syndrome by using too much of it.
Perfect for anytime!

If you guys follow me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook you probably saw that I received a fabulous present from one of my dear readers who honors me by calling herself my 1.5 fan!
I cryed of happiness when I saw the package and the card that came with it, because you don't always realized that people believe in you and in this case like what you write. It was a beautiful gesture which made me feel extremely blessed and supported.

Skinny Bitch!
3:30 AM Prueba 1 Comments
As I wrote to you guys about the beautiful things fashion has and how I consider it wearable art I was thinking of how it can become a harmful obsession.
What do women want? Apart from a gigantic shoe closet and designer clothes we want to be skinny, even more we want to be perfect.
Am I wrong?
But the meaning of perfection has changed through the centuries. In ancient Greece women use to train and tone every muscle just as men. They were tall and imposing.
During the middle-age to have a voluminous body was a symbol of beauty, richness and fullness, because of the food escaces.
Let's go closer to our time. The 50's the era of the beautiful Marilyn Monroe, who was size 10. Impressive, right? she looked stunningly beautiful.
And what about the 80's which were flooded with curvilinear and athletic bodies, with Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Tyra Banks.
Now having wide hips is not always well seen, not even the hourglass body wakes interest.
Today we need to be extremely thin and have no gram of fat to be considered the beholders of a "nice body".
It's a pitty we don't see this type of girls anymore.
All we see are super skinny models. Don't matter if these are girls or boys
And there's where the obsessions begins.
Instead of understanding those are models who work to show beautiful garnments "perfectly", people think they have to look exactly like them.
In my case I started thinking I had to have a gap between my legs. Thing is I'm peared shape and even if I only eat salada my body won't do.
My bones are big and I just have to endure it, eat healthy, work out and accept my constitution.
That's why now I run 30min two times a week and am into an intense Ab routine.. soon here :)
So yeah, scream SKINNY BITCH!
But be healthy!
NEVER take risky measures please!
I know girls who have and the consequences are terrible, believe me.
Remember what Lagerfeld says... "Fashion is the healthiest motivation for losing weight"
