Beauty Tips: Porcelain Lips

8:35 PM Prueba 3 Comments

Hello Beauties!
It's beauty tips wednesday again and  I would like to talk to you about my newest acquisition:
The Cha Cha tint  from Benefit Cosmetics!

The Cha Cha tint is the newest member of the "Tint" family, which consists in multitasking blushes which are applyed with a little brush and can be used as lipstick or eye shadow too.
There are 3 colors: the first, must famous and bestseller is the Benetint that is a liquid raberry tone ink.
The second one is called Posietint and has more like a bubblegum tone.
Last but not least is my favourite, the cha cha tint, which following the coral trend for the season comes in a peach perfect tone to rock the summer.

What I love about it is the finish given to your lips and cheeks.
It's really natural, fresh and looks as if you weren't wearing any makeup, like a porcelain doll which has been recently painted.
Another pro is that as "Tints" this products stay until you wash your face with soap and water.
That means that you can do whatever you like without having to worry about retouching.
In my opinion it is great to go to work or school, you'll look young and beautiful!

All I have left to say is THUMBS UP for this product!

Hello New Sunnies!

5:11 PM Prueba 0 Comments

I'm fascinated with this new trend of wearing decorated sunglasses.
Flowers, pearls, sequins, crystals, prints and exotic forms were shown on the runways and now flood the streets carried by all fashionistas.

I love doing "DIY" projects, but sometimes  just have no time or inspiration.
That's why on Saturday when I found my favourite GUESS lenses, took silicone and plastic pearls and finally got down to work.

I've always liked this shades; oversized with a chic retro vibe.

TA-DA!

It's really easy just take a pair of sunnies and get creative, there are millions of possibilities.
These Chanel inspired lenses now remind me a little bit to Audrey Hepburn
I promise to post some pictures with my new pair of sunnies soon!

Thanks for stopping by!

Beach Basics

3:30 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Hello Summer beauties!
I imagine most of you are travelling to some hot destination this summer.
If you like to hear my advice...Mexico is known for it's gorgeous beaches like Acapulco, where I flew last week for the grand finale from Elle Mexico Diseña.

I don't know for you, but for me beach equals style and fun.
That means it's your opportunity to rock great clothes and if you have it a nice body too.

Vaporous dresses, maxi skirts, squares as black&white inspiration from Louis Vuitton. Hologram, transparencies, gladiators from Tom Ford, mesh garnments or "caged shoes" like the ones from Jimmy Choo, neon as seen in the latest Marc by Marc Jacobs collection, color blocking and wild vibrant prints from Kenzo as well as natural fibers like the ones used in the last D&G collection have been an inspiration for this season all over the world.

Of course there are certain musts for a stylish trip.
My must haves are mostly comfortable and fresh pieces that can make me look stylish without having to put a lot of effort in to it.

It was really difficult to choose, but I managed to make a top 10 list:

1.- Pamela Hat

2.- Your favourite sunnies

3.- Vaporous dress

4.- Maxi-skirt

5.- Sandals with crystal details or applications

6.- Denim shorts

7.- Mesh heels

8.- Printed jumpsuit

9.- Oversized necklace

10.- Wicker bag

Appart from that I have 3 more tips for you.

- Hair
The beach is to relax and for that reason we don't need to look perfect, just fresh and natural. That's why I figures out that when it comes down to our hair, the crazier the better!
Just let it be!
It doesn´t matter if your hair is sleek or curly; get a foam or Oil like the Mythic Oil from L'Oreal  and make it look great, natural and messy really messy for a chic and effortless mane.

100% natural curls in this picture!
Things turn out pretty when you don't try to hard.

-Makeup
It depends on every skin type, but I would suggest you to keep it natural. A colorful lipstick and a little bit of mascara can make great things.
Remember to wear your sunblock ALWAYS to prevent sunburns, premature aging and even skin cancer.

-Shoes
Flipflops and sandals are great, but if you want to look even more sofisticated get a pair of wedges will do for any ocassion.
They are comfortable and that way your feet won't hurt after a night of fun!

Enjoy your vacations and tell me about your musts per FB and Twitter!

Eau de Parfum, Parfum or Eau de Toilette?

12:40 PM Prueba 0 Comments

A fragrance is something we always associate with luxury, fashion and a even a certain life style.
It can become our essence and signature as well as it can make us happy, fell in love and remember something or someone...

My friends where asking me the other day what's the difference between Eau de Parfum, Parfum  and Eau de Toilette.
I write this post in their honor explaining every variation, the way my wonderful mother explained to me one day.

-Parfum:
True perfumes are very powerful, containing 40% concentrate of the scent and a strong fixative, like skunk urine, so that the durability is very high and sharp.
Of course the quality and price are higher as well. Some people suffer headache with these concentrates, still some of them are delicious.

Joy's  appearence in 1930 has been an unprecedented event in the history of perfumery.
The designer Jean Patou in the middle of an economical crisis told to his perfumist Henri Almeras to forget about the pressure and  choose the most beautiful flowers to create a scent.
To creat 30ml of this precious perfum, 10,600 jasmine flowers and 28 dozen roses are needed. Jean Patou is the world's second largest natural jasmine consumer and owns flower fields in Grasse.
The bottle is designed by Louis Hsueh and consists in Baccarat crystal cut and polished by hand, decorat with fine gold.
For this reason Joy costs nothing more nor less than 957 euros and is sold, since its inception, accompanied with the slogan "Joy, the world's most expensive perfume".
I would say it is like liquid gold, because the scent is magnificent!

-Eau de Parfum:
"Eau" means water in french.
This means this solutions might have a higher porcentage of water in it.
Beacuse of that some people call it dilluated perfume. It also has a weeker fixative like alcohol that don't lasts as long as the one used in parfum.

Jour d'Hermès is a fresh eau de parfum perfect for spring / summer . It is very different from what the maison had done so far; with no hints of leather and a bottle created by the artisans of Hermès, Jour d'Hermes celebrates life and embraces the power of the sun god Hermès by letting light in and proudly displaying the maisons symbol at the golden bottle lid.

-Eau de Toilette:
Eau the toilette as well as Cologne are the most dilluated versions of a scent.

They are commonly used as daily fragrances.
Aire Loewe was the first fragrance created by the spanish luxury brand in 1985.
It hasn't change since then and still is a great choice if you are looking for a fresh and classy scent for the season!

This are 3 of my favourites fragrances Joy de Jean PatouJour d'Hermès and Aire de Loewe.
All of them are top quality!

We can say in conclusion that the only difference between eau de parfum, parfum and eau de toilette is basicaly the porcentage of scent and water as well as the fixative.

Hope this post was interesting, remember to like, comment and follow!
Thanks for stopping by!

The Grand Finale from Elle México Diseña 2013

6:40 AM Prueba 1 Comments

As you already know I was really excited for the EMD2013 grand finale in Acapulco... and at the end I was right to be, because it was the most magical and glamorous weekend ever.

It all started with an appointment at the airport at 9am where we were nicely received and lead to the check-in. Later on we got on the charter from Aeromexico and then arrived at the beautiful port of Acapulco in Guerrero.
The whole Mexican fashion community was there exquisitely dressed enjoying our first gathering in the beautiful Banyan Tree Hotel at Cabo Marqués.

Elle was there to receive us of course

It was a welcoming with a view

After enjoying a delicious meal with the best company, we were taken to our hotel where lovely presents from L'Oreal, Maidenform, YSL Makeup, Whiterabbit, Massimo Dutti and Elle were already waiting for us.

We had the perfect time to relax and gain energie for the BIG show, at the beach from the Fairmont Hotel.
The final runway took place at the brand new "Forum Imperial" at the port; the place was decked out in a large black carpet where guests posed and beautiful Swarovksi jewels were displayed just as the incredible "Mythic Oil" from L'Oreal ,which I absolutely and irrevocably love for keeping my curls silky and under control in Acapulco's wet weather.

The show started with John Paul Ospina as it's host and I can tell you he is the best. There was a live streaming and the runway was being recorded for the last episode of the show. Because of that many cuts were made and technical mistakes corrected, but John Paul managed to make the public laugh and keep everything under control. RESPECT!

Everyone was really happy  to see Edgar Lozano's (EMD2012 winner) first collection and eager to discover which of the 14 finalist was going to be named the winner this year.

Edgar, as I told you at the preview, was inspired by the poem "Letany of my defects" from Guadalupe (Pita) Amor. His collection was full of clean and vaporous silhouettes, which perfectly represented the woman described in Pita's poem.
Beautiful, Vain, Elegant and Fragile.

Let the show begin!

J'adore those sleeves and the high waisted pants as well as the flowers in the maxi-dress

This bustier with Swarovski crystal embroidery is STUNNING!

Afterwards came the most anticipated moment of the night, where we met the 14 finalists and their designs!
With the sound of music full of suspense and white wigs, the 14 models slowly walked down the runway for all the attendees to see the best designs of Elle Mexico Diseña "Haute Couture en Blanc"

The dresses
"Haute Couture en Blanc"

Dresses and Designers

Iván Ávalos, José Antonio Torres Bravo and Daniela Alejandra Meza  were my absolutely favourites.
Take a look at their dresses:
 Iván Ávalos
26 years old
From Pachuca
The dress has more than 3000 hand-cut flowers by the talented and young designer.
Ivan said he was inspired to create this piece by the sweetness of his mother and wanted to complement it with his father's strength by representing him in a metallic belt.
I think it is a very sleek, girly, classy and wonderful design. ... I would also wear it!!!!
(In case you were wondering)

Daniela Alejandra Meza
27 years old
From Matamoros
Tulle, tulle, and more tulle.
The skirt is extraordinary and the lace detail make this dress gorgeous.

Jose Antonio Torres Bravo
35 years old
From Tierra Blanca, Veracruz
I literally opened my  mouth when I saw this dress, the structure was completely made out of thread and looked spectacular. You have to be very skilled to make something like this with your bare hands. BRAVO!

At the end the winners were:
Verónica Diaz in the third place, who won $30,000 courtesy of Downey and a scholarship to study at the Institute di Moda Burgo in Milan or Mexico

The second place went to Patricia Pérez who won $50,000 courtesy of Downey and a scholarship from The Marangoni Institute with accommodation and airfare included to study at this prestigious school in Milan or Paris.
with the model Cristina Piccone from Paragon Model Managment

The first place and overall winner of this designers competition was for Leonardo López Mena who got a three months internship with all expenses paid to go to the HQ of Massimo Dutti in Barcelona. During that time he will join the design team of the brand and create with them the F/W  2014 international collection.
The W Hotel will give him a 5 day stay in Fort Lauderdale to find the inspiration for his new collection.
He'll also receive 2,000 dollars to go shopping at San Marcos Premium Outlets and  Kaltex will give him the fabrics of his choice to support him in the making of his collection, which will open the Elle Mexico Diseña 2014 final runway.
The 3 designers will present their collections at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Mexico.

I you liked any other dresses you can vote for them here: http://www.quien.com/pasarela-elle-mexico-disena/2013/jose-antonio-torres and make that designer win a trip to New York's Fashion week.

Last but of course not least came the party, time to meet, talk and have fun with everybody.

Here with Rolando Santana who is a very gifted designer named by some people the "King of Neiman Marcus"
I had the fortune to see one of his collections at Nook, check it out!

The new talent Edgar Lozano who impressed everyone with his beautiful collection!
Hope to see more of him soon.

I finally had the pleasure to meet Andy Torres, a great blogger and a super nice girl!

Peter Som is one of my favourite designer with effortless chic pieces that can make you look amazingly sexy and classy.

We stayed at the party until early in the morning and then returned to our Hotel.
The next day we bid farewell to the Fairmont Hotel with a walk along the beach where I met John Paul Ospina.
I can say that apart from being a great host (the best one ever) he is very nice and friendly too, something that many successful people should learn to be.
(I know I look like a mess, but it was still cool to meet him and you will look like that too if you had partied all night long :-P )

I would like to thank ClubELLE and Elle México for all their attentions.
It was a wonderful weekend and a marvelous experience!

Preview Elle México Diseña

3:30 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Hey guys!
It's Thursday and I'm already eager about the season finale from Elle Mexico Diseña 2013 in Acapulco this weekend.
When I went to the premiere many things were revealed, but the million dollar question is: Who are the finalist?
Answer: Confidential!
This year Elle Mexico decided to keep it a secret, to grow more expectation between the public.

What I can tell you is the following...
The dresscode is going to be: BLACK
Many famous and important people from the mexican fashion industry are going to be there.
The guest judge will be the amazing designer and Michelle Obama's favourite, Peter Som.
Peter is an American fashion designer born and raised in San Francisco, who aspires to provide a fresh perspective on modern American fashion and defines his style as "effortless elegance and refined sexiness"
He graduated from Connecticut College in 1993 with a degree in Art History and then continued his studies at Parsons School of Design where he was thought by Michael Kors and Calvin Klein.
Peter won the Parsons Gold Thimble Award by Isaac Mizrahi and after graduating, pursued his career as a fashion designer by working under Bill Blass in 1998.
In 2001, Som created his own line and unveiled the collection with a show at Bryant Park. 6 years later he was appointed Creative Director of women’s wear for Bill Blass, but left the company in 2008 to concentrate on his label.
In 2009, Peter Som became the Creative Consultant for Tommy Hilfiger, where he designed the women’s runway collection through to 2012.
His label, "Peter Som" is applauded by fashion publications and celebrities to this day. His collections have been featured in world-renowned fashion publications including Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and InStyle.

Not only the winner will be revealed at the award ceremony; last year's winner Edgar Lozano will present his collection.
Edgar was named the winner by Matthew Williamson, the model Poppy Delevingne, the top Eugenia Silva, Pixie Hopkins assistant director of the projects from Palacio de Hierro. Caroline Scheufele co- president of Chopard, Elle's Fashion editor Sara Galindo and the editor in chief MariPaz Ocejo.
He is returning from an Intership at Massimo Dutti's HQ in Barcelona and will now show everything he has learned.
Here a sneak peek from the fitting at the W Hotel in Mexico City.

The feminine and detailed collection is inspired by the poem "Litany of my defects" from Guadalupe (Pita) Amor.
According to the magazine, Edgar's collection has and excellent confection work and glassware applications in the 16 looks, which according to Lozano, have up about 40 thousand Swarovski crystals.
I'm super excited about this weekend.
As I have said a thousand times; Mexico is full of talent and platforms like this really help to their development.
I'll share with you the event soon, thanks for stopping by!
Stay Tuned!

Beauty Tips: Nail bars, What to order?

3:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

I was going to paint my nails the other day, but when I observed their deplorable state...I decided that it is urgent for me to go to the salon for a manipedi!
I was just thinking about that while leafing through into the latest issue of Vogue Mexico
and suddenly found a fantastic article about how to choose the best manicure for your nails.
We might never think about this important decision, but how do we know what to order at the salon? What's the best option for our nails?
Because it isn't just about the color or shape. It is about your nails and the quality you want them to have.
That's why today I would like to give you a little guide, in order to decide which manicure is the best for you, of course it depends of what sort of nails you have and that truth should be told by an expert, but to have an idea of where you are in the statistic is not bad.

-Brazilian or dry manicure
Consists in using plastic gloves or socks containing assets, which nourish, moisturize, regenerate, soften and smooth the cuticle, your nails, hands and feet.
This technique prevents infection and is the most recommended by manicurists for it's effects.

-Traditional
Nails are dipped in a soap solution for softness.

-Shellac or permanent
Perfect manicure that dries in 2 minutes with UV light and lasts 15 days, however experts think it's bad that it has a "root effect" that means you have to go to the salon to remove it, because if done improperly nails can crack and rise in layers. There are also concerns about de pH levels balance which might get destabilize.

-Paraffin Manicure
Ideal for dryed and tyred hands
For this type of manicure hands are dipped into a container with hot wax.
Depending on the status of the hands, they must be kept dipped in between 15 and 30 minutes. Wax is then removed and given a massage using a natural oil to hydrate.

Now some tips:
-Previously it was believed that removing cuticles was good for your nails, yet the majority of times the nails and skin swells and is more likely to get infections both internal and external.
So... Don't remove the cuticules!

-Always read the layers and check if the polishes are natural some of them are up to 85% and don't damage your nails, unlike others we can get attract to for the prices and are almost 100% chemicals that inflame our nails or leave them full of imperfections

-The secret of a good manipedi starts with the use of base or foundation which acts like a protective shield against the nail polish y extends the chromatic life of the nail.

-Moisturizes your hands thoroughly with cream and exfolialas daily 2 times a week so they look soft, youg and beautiful.

I hope you liked this post, later on I´ll tell you which one I chose....
Enjoy you manipedis girls and tell me per facebook or twitter which mani style you chose and how did it go!
