Chanel Pops-Up in Mexico City!

Elegance, luxury and good taste are the first things we picture when we hear the name or see the iconic symbol from THE maison.
The founder of the worldwide known brand, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was not only a great designer, but a strong and confident woman who revolutionized fashion with her clothing and supported the equality movement in the 20's that gave women a voice.
It is worth mentioning that we all dream and drool with any piece with her name on it. Doesn't matter if it is a dress, the little black jaket or a boy bag, that makes us wonder who needs men if you can have perfection hanging from your shoulder, Chanel will always be something to fall in love for....

I went yesterday to the opening party of the first Chanel Pop-Up store in Mexico and Latin America at Antara Polanco Fashion Hall where great editors and guest could see for the first time this lovely beauty sanctuary created by El Palacio de Hierro and Chanel for us fashion lovers.

Here with the one & only Kelly Talamas
Editor in chief of Vogue Mexico and Latin America

With the actress Ana de la Reguera and Brenda Diaz de la Vega
Editor in chief of Harper's Bazaar Mexico and Latin America

Fernanda García Beauty Coordinator of Vogue Mexico and Latin America

Le Vernis (nailpolish), perfumes, shadows, foundations, mascaras, lipsticks and powders from the four makeup collections of the brand just as special services and beauty treatments to make us look DIVINE are offered in the store, which will only be there for six months.
...I know it's really sad, but let's try to stay beautiful and don't cry... that's what Coco would have wanted...

The way to apply is always important that's why Chanel has a great brush variaty

The event followed with great music played by the DJ's tom&collins, delicious treats and glasses of champagne!
The store is really chic, fresh, classy and perfectly pictures this fun and young side of Chanel.
It's already open, so run and start enjoying the wonderful products they have to offer!
I would like to especially thank Gina Pineda and Flavio Rivera from El Palacio de Hierro as well as Chanel for everything. It was a perfect & magical evening, which I really enjoyed.

Sexy, Glamorous & Feminine

Are the key word, which designer Daniela Ferrari uses to describe her brand.
2 weeks ago I visited her showroom to learn a little more about her designs and take a look at "You name it" her Fall Winter 13-14 prét-a-porter collection that was presented at the IDM platform.

The designer, who spent time at the prestigious Marangoni Institute in Milano as a listener and then studied at the "Studio Degli Abiti" in Mexico city, received me in her office and lead me immediately to the showroom were her creations are displayed.
The first thing I noticed was that it looks like a closet, because besides her garments she also has an accesories' corner with a great variaty.
She told me that the main idea of this was that her clients could choose some of her pieces and also have the opportunity to accessorize them in the moment so they  avoid the typical "How can I wear this?" situation.

FerZu
Amazing jewelry made out of zipper
100% original!

Diego Ibanez
I found it very good because aside from that, many accessories and shoes are from mexican designers like FerZu (jewelry designer) and Diego Ibanez (shoe designer) who have lots of pretty things and having them there helps to promote local talent.

The woman for whom Daniela Ferrari designs is cheerful, feminine, has positive attitude towards life, likes retro-inspired clothes and exclusivity, as the designer only makes 2 or 3 items of each model so that the brand is always very personal and unique.
This sweater is so girly and chic, I'm in love!
If you like lace and transparencies you will love this brand because Daniela is a master when it comes to play with the effects of these fabrics. Her proposals is practicality by which you can buy a translucent dress with different colored backgrounds to give it a twist every time you wear it.
This dress helps the purpose, apart for being so beautiful.

Hand-sticht details are also very present, specially in her bridal gowns with pearl, cristal applications and tul flowers.

Here some of her sketches:

Daniela is a great designer!

Go visit her Showroom at Lieja 28 av. Chapultepec

Beauty Tips: Sandals here we Go!

2:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Dresses, hats, sunnies, piña colada and sun come along with summer asweel as a pair of gorgeous sandals.
And wearing sandals involves having nice&soft feet and many people have ugly, dry and unkempt hoofs that would scare the hell out of anyone making them wear socks even in the sand. (yuck)

My mother always instilled (or rather never left me) I should never walk barefoot, I always wore socks and talc so that my feet were soft ... but one summer I went to Germany and walked in flip flops 24/7.
It was expected that the plastic hurt my feet and turned them into stone.

So when I return, my mother tald me that if I wanted to get my princess feet back (yes I'm being modest hihihi) I had to subject to a rigorous system: put vaseline every night and sleep with socks.

Vaseline feels funny, but if you do these daily you'll see results in a few weeks

With this you will have no problem in presuming your feet this summer!
Remember that a good pedicure makes your feet look even better.

Chic Teddy!

3:30 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Fredo by Melissa López (2011 auction)
When Luis Matin Sordo was 6 years old, his grandmother gave him a teddy bear she had made with the fabric of his favorite blanket.
That bear was a staunch friend for Luis and accompanied him for long.
As the years passed Luis made many dolls, animals, magical characters and bears with different faces, eyes, expressions, sizes, fillings, etc.. .until he reached the "Beautiful Bear" which was almost like the one his grandma had made him.

Fredo by Alfonso Loher (2011 auction)
But, why is this a remarkable story?
Well, nowadays Fredo the bear helps many organizations on behalf of those most in need.
Every year a group of people is chosen to decorate a bear and then sell it in an auction.
Today, the Fredo Bear auction takes place for the fourth time to help Mexican children, at the "Papalote museo del niño"
This year funds will help the following institutions:
KADIMA, B.C. - Inclusion of children, youth and adults with special needs and / or disabilities into society.
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF MEXICO FEDERICO GOMEZ - treating children with cancer.
CASA DE LAS MERCEDES, I.A.P. - Medical and psychological care to children and adolescents living on the streets, raped and battered, and training to reintegrate into society.
DINING MARY, B.C. - Food for children living in extreme poverty.

Fredo by Lorena Ochoa wearing Lacoste (2013 auction)

It's extraordinary to see how many people try to make a difference!
I thinks it's a lovely event and we should support the cause.

ABC of Fashion...

3:30 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Founding this picture on Instagram literally made my day.
I went crazy, loved it and I died of laughter, because I projected!
I saw myself in 20 years, working in the industry and still obsessed and in love with fashion.
After daydreaming for a bit, I showed this picture to my mother, and our upcoming chic chat  led to  ending the alphabet.
So here it's our ABC of Fashion...

A
Azzedine Alaia
If you are a shoe lover like me, you'll understand when I tell you that my heart melts every time when someone mentions Alia boots, or as I call them ... 15 cm of sexiness and pure perfection.

B
Balenciaga
Cristóbal Balenciaga was a prestigious Spanish fashion designer, considered one of the most important creators of haute couture.
His ability to create volumes and shapes was amazing; gave the garments a perfect finish, almost sculptural, covering all stitches.
Like this iconic flamenco inspired skirt..

C
Coco Chanel
Probably one of the most famous women of all time who revolutionized fashion by making 20's fashion a standart of equality and class.

D
Dolce&Gabbana
Inspired by history, their creations are always elegant and majestic.

E
Etro
If anything I find attractive, is a man who dresses well and takes risks.
ETRO the King of mix&match is the perfect brand for men and women to dress incredible with lots of patterns and textures.

F
Fendi
With an F as in FUR, one of the most amazing things in the world, that Fendi has the power to convert in a statement with bright colors and patterns.

G
Gucci
I can not think of anything else than the Horsebit Loafer from 1953. I have a vintage pair from my father, that he never used and I simply adore.
Gucci is celebrating the 60th aniversary of the Horsebit Loafers this year by reinterpreting them in various colors and different materials.

H
Hermés
Can be understood as elegance and quality craftsmanship with equine inspiration.
Hermes represents the touch of elegance that every woman should own.

 I
Issey Miyake
Another print obsessed designer who's also a talented perfumist

J
Jason Wu
Young and talented, has dressed Michelle Obama on numerous occasions

K
Kenzo
It is an incredibly fun brand that explodes the color to the fullest making them a statement.
My favorite? Leopard in orange and Green!

Trend Alert: sweatshirts are becoming a main piece in every Fashion lover ´s closet because it can be wore with everything from pants to skirts and look amazing.

L
Loewe
We couldn't really choose between both amazing names so I will write 2 options on some letters.
First Loewe, a spanish brand specialized in leather goods of the highest quality.  Always renewing itself  without losing the roots of it's  style, which has made their items become family tradition.
Louboutin
The red sole master is known all over the world for his unique shoes.
With a pair you'll be the most most envied girl in the world.

M
Maison Martin Margiela
Every piece from Margiela is 100% different to any other, that's why it's the best option for if you want to be the center of attention and a street style celebrity.
Imagine this marabú beauty in Snowy NYC on Fashion week... <3

I am delighted to say that my first couture show was his.

P
Proenza Schouler

Q as in Queen as in McQueen? seems logical to me.
Gothic inspiration and braveness in his pieces have paralyzed the world with his unique genius.

R
Roberto Cavalli
The italian designer known for his wild prints, has made the world love his clothes by remaining true to his style!

S
Stella McCartney
Nobody knew what to expect from a musicians daughter, but she impressed with her work at Chloé and now with her own brand is one of the most wanted names in our closet.
Casual, comfortable and chic outfits is what Stella wants to creat with every piece she makes.

 T
Tommy Hilfiger
All we can say is that he's the king of preppy.

U
Uterqüe

Fedoras, gloves, bags, shoes, accesories and everything we want.

Vera Wang
Every bride would kill for one of her dresses and most of them would even say that “A Vera Wang doesn't adapt to you, you adapt to the Vera Wang”

Valentino
He says it is only good for making clothes, which is a disaster in everything else.
I don't think he's only good but I think he's one of the best designers who can dress the classic women who never loses style, demeanor or education.

W
Wang, Alexander
The new Emperor of Balenciaga

X

Y
Yves Saint Laurent
Or as they call it now Saint Laurent (I'm not very happy with the change, it has always ben "YSL")
Has a new dark side were music and Fashion collide. That, I love!
